A star that reflects on expressing what you love clearly, and starting new things with people.

01 · Read My Star

It’s good to step up first, but you don’t have to carry it all alone.

Through the theme of the Sun, look at how you express yourself and take the lead. Read about the upside of being the one who speaks up first in a group, and how to cope when carrying it all alone wears you out.

01 / 04

Say What You Think First

Think of a moment you greeted someone first at a new gathering, or offered a small suggestion when no one else could decide on a direction. The Sunlight story pays attention to that first move. Sometimes what’s needed isn’t the person with the perfect answer, but the person who gets everyone started.

But you don’t always have to play the bright, upbeat role. Being a source of energy for others and wanting time alone to rest can coexist. Separating what you do because you enjoy it from what you do to get a good reaction makes it clearer where your energy is actually going.

Ask myself

Think of one recent thing you enjoyed without waiting for anyone’s reaction to it.

02 / 04

Before You Prepare Anything, Ask What They Actually Want

There are moments you want to give someone you care about an amazing day. Setting the plans and building the mood is its own way of showing how you feel. But before deciding what to prepare, ask “what would you actually like?”

If you end up feeling hurt, check whether they actually didn’t notice your effort, or whether you simply never said what response you wanted. Instead of waiting for someone to guess your feelings, you can name what you want specifically, like “Today I really wanted to hear a thank-you.”

Ask myself

For your next plan together, leave just one decision up to them.

03 / 04

Practice Sharing Both the Lead and the Responsibility

A presentation, the first pitch on a project, your own portfolio — in moments where you need to clearly show what matters to you, borrow the Sunlight perspective. Writing this project’s purpose in one sentence makes it easier to decide what to do first.

Your contribution doesn’t only count if you did everything yourself. On a team, after proposing a direction, work out roles and deadlines together. Rather than wearing yourself out trying to perfect everything alone, building a result where everyone’s contribution actually shows can carry you further in the long run.

Ask myself

Write the purpose of what you’re doing right now as: “Through this, I want to show ___.”

04 / 04

It’s Okay to Rest Even on Days With Nothing to Show

On days when there’s an endless stream of people to compare yourself to, it’s easy to lose track of your own pace. You don’t have to let someone else’s acceptance letter, new job, or great photo decide your worth today. Find one moment that felt satisfying, even with nothing to explain to anyone.

It also helps not to treat rest purely as prep time for the next achievement. Spend time on things like a walk or music that don’t need to leave anything behind. The energy to express yourself can come back even from time spent proving nothing at all.

Ask myself

Today, pick one moment of enjoyment you won’t record or post anywhere.

วันอาทิตย์

Sunday: the Sun, the lion, and a day of red

In Thai tradition, Sunday (วันอาทิตย์, wan Athit) belongs to the Sun. The Sun’s guardian animal is handed down as the lion Rachasi (ราชสีห์), and both the body color of the sun deity and the color of Sunday are red. On the taksa diagram the Sun sits in the northeast and is number 1, the first of the eight bodies in the count. That is why a taksa built from Sunday starts with the Sun in the first seat, “The People Around Me.”

Sunday’s Buddha image is the gazing posture, Pang Thawai Net (ปางถวายเนตร). It comes from the story of the newly awakened Buddha who, out of gratitude, gazed at the Bodhi tree without blinking for seven days. The image is often made as a standing figure with both hands folded in front. It shows someone looking quietly and for a long time at what they are thankful for, which suits the feeling of Sunday well.

In daily life, many people pick something red to wear or carry on Sunday. A red shirt on a Sunday-born person’s birthday, or a touch of red on a small thing like a wallet or a phone case, is a common way to do it. It feels less like a weighty matter and more like a light promise: “today is my day, and this is its color.”

All of this is long-standing cultural tradition, not a basis for forecasting your day or describing your character. Even within Thailand, details differ a little by region and by teacher. Please read the Sunday star as a story that asks, “Shall I let what I love show brightly?”

In the taksa, the planet of Sunday takes the first seat and the eight bodies are laid out in a fixed order. The chart for someone born on Sunday places the Sun in the seat of The People Around Me, the Moon in Life Force, Mars in Influence, Mercury in Fortune, Saturn in Foundation, Jupiter in Effort, Rahu in People Who Help You, and Venus in What to Watch Carefully. This layout is carried over from a published traditional table, and this site only reads the color of each planet from it. Please remember that astrologers interpret even the same table differently, and that no seat is fixed as good or bad.
